Laptop Docking Station for MacBook and Windows. USB C Docking Station Triple Display, 11 in 1. Docking Station.
- The Dell Thunderbolt Dock WD19TB with v1.0.14.1 update (which includes NVM43 firmware) was certified by Apple through an independent third-party laboratory to work with Apple USB-C hosts. The known functionality provided by the dock when connected to an Apple USB-C host is outlined below.
- LandingZone Docking Station. This dock is only compatible with the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. It connects to the USB Type-C and Audio port on your laptop. The included 96W LandingZone US Power Adapter powers the docking station and can also charge your MacBook under most conditions.
- Oct 09, 2020 Best Docking Stations for MacBook Pro iMore 2020. A MacBook Pro docking station is like a power strip for your laptop. They have a variety of ports, and unlike the best USB-C hubs, they usually have their own power source so they can handle high-speed data transfer and multiple display connections.
I recently received a new Macbook Pro 13 with Touch Bar. This replaces my old 2012 15 inch RMBP.
I have been using a DELL D6000 universal Docking Station. This dock supports connection via both USB 3.0 and USB C. Although not officially supported it works when using the Display Link drivers.
My issue is that when I connect it via USB C to my new MBP, the external screen activates, and is seen by the MBP. I can arrange the displays and it is shown in display preferences. However the screen is Black. I can move the cursor onto the screen and it appears, however there is no way to use the screen for anything. As in nothing other than a moving cursor appears on the screen.

I use a power-delivering docking station (model Dell WD19DC) with my Dell laptop that connects via USB-C and I'm hoping to be able to reliably plug in my 2017 15' MacBook Pro as well. So far it works fine with the MacBook - all my devices, including external monitors, connect ok - but I'm unclear about the power delivery aspect. The specs on the WD19DC say that Dell laptops receive 210W of power while non-Dell machines receive 90W. I haven't fried my MacBook yet (as far as I can tell), and it seems to charge just as well as with the OEM Apple charger.
Bluebeam software download. A few questions here that will reveal my ignorance about how electricity works:
- I believe most Dell laptops need ~65W when charging, so am I really receiving 210W with the Dell? Assume this is regulated somewhere along the way (or just results in a faster charge)?
- The 15' MacBook Pro needs ~87W when charging, so if I'm receiving 90W, am I at risk of damaging the machine? Again, assume this is regulated somewhere along the way?
- Is it problematic if I'm actually receiving less than 90W? Have read in other places that using chargers below the required ~87W can damage the battery in the long run.
- Has anyone had any luck with other 'universal' power-delivering docking stations that explicitly support Mac and PC?
